Existing and future needs of sporting facilities and clubs
The Frankston City suburbs of Carrum Downs and Skye have experienced significant residential development since the 1980s. This report investigates opportunities to meet community demand for sporting facilities in an environment where needs for such facilities appear to be increasing.
The report was adopted by Council on Monday, 23 May 2005. The focus of the investigation was targeted at current provision and future capacity of sporting infrastructure in these two suburbs.
The consultation process included discussion with a wide range of stakeholders. Interviews were held with representatives of the sporting community, schools, commercial developers, commercial sporting skill providers and relevant Frankston City Council staff. A series of options were reviewed and compared with potential ramifications before detailing a list of recommendations for future directions.
