Frankston City has a large range of sporting facilities dedicated to cricket during the summer months. There are fifteen cricket clubs within the municipality with the majority competing within the Mornington Peninsula Cricket Association with other clubs from further down the peninsula. Local clubs are situated in all sections of the city and cater for participants from Kanga Cricket and Under 11 age groups through to Open Age.

Premier cricket club, Frankston Peninsula Heat, also compete in the state wide cricket competition and have one of the best cricketing venues in the state at Jubilee Park in Frankston. Cricket Victoria is also starting to develop the game amongst females with several local clubs initiating competition for junior girls. The Frankston Womens Cricket Club, who are based at Belvedere Reserve in Seaford, are a local club that caters specifically for females within the Victorian Womens Cricket Association.
