The transformation of Gallery Lane in the Frankston city centre has become a unique place of interest for residents and visitors. Walk down and view a series of paintings installed in 2001 to help beautify the precinct and improve the public's perception of safety in the area. The lane runs between Wells Street and Station Street, and is decorated with artworks, including a 10-metre picture depicting local life in the ''70s.

![]() | Frankston City Council has erected a plaque letting people know who was involved in the community arts program, including Monterey Secondary College students who are engaged in the school's Students Engaged in Community Activities (SECA) program, artist Tony Sowersby, the Rotary Club of Frankston, SkillsPlus, Work for the Dole, Your Employment Solutions, and members of the Frankston community. |

Frankston City Council is seeking enthusiastic opportunities to be involved with young people in graffiti or art projects.
Street Art Program
Frankston City Council is also looking for talented residents to assist with its "Street Art" program. This program gives residents the opportunity to display their artistic skills in a positive way by producing artwork to replace unsightly graffiti and to beautify our City.
Your artwork could be displayed in Gallery Lane!
If you have an idea for an artwork you would like to have displayed in Gallery Lane, please contact Frankston City Council's Community Safety Team on 1300 322 322.
