Frankston City Council works closely with community agencies in developing and management of Frankston City's Municipal Emergency Response and Recovery Plan, which provides direction and assistance in emergencies such as bushfires, floods and other natural disasters and power shortages.
Community Projects provides immediate recovery and planning assistance such as organising food, emergency accommodation and relief centres for victims. In addition the department may act as a referral service for other local community services and with other local organisations, develop long-term preventative measures for emergencies.
