The Frankston and Carrum Downs Library Service, incorporating the Langwarrin and Seaford shops and Frankston Library Express, is a free service providing a range of high quality accessible library and information resources for the entire community.
There are some aspects of the library services which do incur fees and charges to enable a good, quality service to be available for all community members.
1. Overdue fines
- 20 cents per day per item
- Overdue fines will not apply on items for young children including board books, picture books or audio visual materials
Please note: Borrowers will no longer be able to borrow from the collection or access public PCs when:
- Fees and charges are above $10.00
- Items are overdue for longer than 30 days
- Fees and charges are older than three months
2. Lost, damaged and stolen items
- Replacement tape from a talking book set $11.00
- Replacement disc from a talking book set $16.50
- Missing labels or barcode $3.30
- Missing labels and barcode $5.50
- Binding on application
- A processing fee of $8.00 will apply to all lost and damaged items. No replacement or processing charges will apply to babies' board books.
Please note: Items overdue for longer than three months will be deemed lost, and replacement costs will apply. Replacement costs are calculated on an individual basis.
3. Replacement membership card
- $3.30 per card
Where a library card is lost or stolen, library members are responsible for any items borrowed on their card until the loss is reported to the library.
4. Inter-library loans
- $2.00 per item will apply to all inter-library loans, paid up front. Charges will apply whether or not the item(s) are made available or are collected.
5. Printing and photocopy fees per page
Black and White A4 - 15 cents
Black and White A3 - 25 cents
Colour A4 - $1.10
Colour A3 - $2.20
You can either purchase a $2.00 copy card (inlcuding 30 cents of credit) before copying or printing, or, add money to your plastic Frankston Library Service membership card, if you have one.
All prices are inclusive of GST.
