Book A Computer

The Library's public access computers are available for use by members of the Frankston Library Service. 

How to book a computer

To book a computer at the Frankston or Carrum Downs libraries, you require your membership card number (Log on ID) and PIN (Password).

Computers can be booked for up to 2 hours per day and up to seven days in advance.

Bookings will be cancelled automatically if you do not log in within 15 minutes of the starting time.

Express computers have a 20 minute per day time limit and do not require booking.

Additional computer access is available to Library members at the Langwarrin and Seaford Shops.

PC and Internet Conditions of Use

The library's public access computers are available for use by members of the Frankston Library Service and visitors to Frankston City who agree to abide by the conditions of use below:

  • PC Users are required to book time to use the computers and abide by the time limit of the booking.
  • Your Frankston Library Service membership number must be given to book a computer. Bookings can be made in person or by telephone.
  • The responsibility for acceptable use of the Internet by users under 18 years old rests with parents/guardians.
  • Internet use must meet general community standards and users must not deliberately access illegal, inappropriate or restricted material.
  • PC Users are not permitted to load software onto library computers.
  • PC users should be self-sufficient when using the PCs/Internet, only limited trouble shooting can be provided by library staff.
  • Centralised printing facilities are available.
  • Floppy disks, optical discs and USB micro drives may be used.
  • PC users are responsible for copyright compliance.
  • The Express computers have a 20 minute time limit and do not require booking.
  • When accessing audio, earphones must be used for private listening.
  • Failure to abide by these conditions of use may result in access to library computers being suspended.
  • Use of the computers may be monitored at any time.
  • Library membership cards are not transferable for purposes of computer use.

Bookings

  • Internet PCs can be booked for a maximum of two hours per day.
  • Bookings can be made for the current day or up to one week ahead.
  • If cancelling a booking, please let the library know as soon as possible.
  • Computer bookings will be cancelled if the customer does not attend their booking within 15 minutes of the starting time.
