Sustainable Water Use Plan
The Sustainable Water Use Plan (SWUP) was completed in October 2006 as part of the ICLEI Water Campaign. As part of this process, Council developed short-term reduction goals for water use within the community to assist the state government in reaching their short term reduction target, and at a corporate level to reduce Council's water consumption (35% from 2000-01 levels by 2012-2013, and a further 10% by 2017-2018).
Stormwater Management Plan
Using risk assessment methodology, Council's Stormwater Management Plan identifies issues and provides actions to improve the quality of stormwater within the municipality. This management plan is under review.
Greenhouse Strategy
Council's Greenhouse Strategy was completed in 1999 as part of Milestone Three of the ICLEI Cities for Climate Protection program. As part of this process, Council developed short term reduction goals for greenhouse emissions within the community (20% by 2010 from 1995 base year levels) and at a corporate level (25% by 2010 from 1995 base year levels). In 2008, Council approved a plan to achieve a Carbon Neutral status by 2025. The Greenhouse Strategy is being revised to incorporate this endeavour.
Street Tree Master Plan
Strategic plan to improve the quality and quantity of street trees, aiming to vegetate most of the nature strips in the city with canopy trees within 15 years.
Litter Strategy
Council's Litter Strategy 2004-2007 Action Plan identifies the direction of litter management and litter reduction within the municipality. Council's Litter Prevention Working Group is pivotal to the Strategy and was formed to ensure litter actions are strategically based and implemented collaboratively across Council Departments. The Litter Strategy will be reviewed in 2010-11.
Environmental Sustainability Strategy
A municipal-wide overarching strategy which will provide the framework for Council and community actions in protecting the natural environment and using resources in a sustainable manner.
Climate Change Impacts and Adaptation Plan
Frankston City Council has adopted the 'Climate Change Impacts and Adaptation Plan' to help Council and community facilitate action and reduce vulnerability to the impacts of climate change.
ESD Design Guides
Council has developed a set of Ecologically Sustainable Development (ESD) Design Guides for people interested in improving the environmental sustainability of their buildings and urban design.

Street Tree Management Policy
The Street Tree Management Policy was developed to provide a framework for making structured, consistent and environmentally sound management decisions for all Council-owned or managed street and roadside trees.
Waste Minimisation and Management Strategy
(inc. Action Plan)
The Waste Minimisation and Management Strategy guides Frankston City Council towards best practice in waste services, waste reduction and environmental sustainability. The Strategy includes a Waste Wise Action Plan and complements Council's Environment Strategy.
