Council has two part-time MetroAccess Officers whose roles are to assist local communities so that they are more welcoming and inclusive of people with disabilities.
The MetroAccess Arts Officer is based at the Frankston Arts Centre and will focus on inclusive arts programs for people with a disability.
The MetroAccess Community Development Officer can help people with a disability with information about:
- Jobs and training
- Housing
- Transport
- Sport and exercise
- Social activities
- Frankston Disability Access and Inclusion Committee
Council's MetroAccess Officers also work with carers or family members of people with a disabilities, organisations, community groups and businesses. The MetroAccess program, a Department of Human Services and local government initiative, seeks to build long term, sustainable change in the local community.
