Missed Business

What is missed business?

Did you know that you can attract more customers by providing better access to your business?

In Australia, 3.6 million people, or 19 per cent of the population, have some form of a disability. These may be temporary (eg a sports injury), or they may be permanent. They may be something that is brought on by ageing (eg poor vision, hearing or mobility) or the person may have had the disability from birth.

Other people may have occasional mobility difficulties - eg pushing a pram or shopping trolley, escorting an elderly person or a toddler. Even your delivery person may have difficulties moving around because of changing levels or blockages on the footpath (eg tables and chairs, a-frame signs and displays of goods).

More information is available at Kerbside Trading Guidelines.

Together with their friends and families, the number of people affected by a mobility difficulty or a disability is greater still; and many of them are potentially your customers.
