Frankston City Council is seeking comments from businesses and the broader community on the Draft Kerbside Trading Guidelines - Discussion Paper.
Kerbside Trading is an important part of the retail environment and can significantly contribute to the ambiance of an area. Frankston City Council is committed to supporting local businesses to contribute to the dynamic and attractive atmosphere of the streets and laneways of our shopping precincts. However, Council also has the responsibility to provide a safe environment for all people who use footpaths throughout the municipality.
The draft Guidelines have been developed to provide a sustainable balance between businesses seeking to use footpaths for Kerbside Trading activities - including the display goods, outdoor dining (including screens, awnings, outdoor gas heaters), planter boxes and temporary signage, with the need to provide safe and dignified access along footpaths.
