2008 / 2009 Festival Season

Doing ... Sharing ... Belonging!

Frankston is fast becoming known as a major festival city and why shouldn't it? There aren't too many places in Melbourne that make the arts, the beach, quality retail and entertainment so accessible or do it so well. As our festivals grow, so too does our need for volunteers. Why not become part of "selling" Frankston to the rest of the world and join us as a volunteer? Photo of Volunteers

Participating in Frankston's major events is a rewarding and memorable experience because of the wide variety of events and jobs. It can be as simple as stall minding at exhibitions, or as rigorous as stage management or acting as zone wardens. We aim to tailor your volunteering experience to your particular area of interest and capabilities. You can volunteer for a festival that suits your interest, or be involved for the whole season. It is a great opportunity to learn new skills, gain valuable experience in the events industry, and be part of an exciting team dedicated to showing visitors and the community of Frankston a good time!

Why Volunteer?More Volunteers

Ask any of our volunteers "why?" and you'll be amazed at the range of answers.Mostly it's the change from being an audience member to being "part" of the festival. You are not just being there, you're making it happen. The friendships, the camaraderie, the sense of community, the good times that come of  "working"  at festivals more than compensate for the few hours involved. There are plenty of opportunities to learn new skills, or pass on your knowledge.

Volunteers are offered various benefits, including access to the volunteer kitchen, festival caps or tee-shirts, free tickets, written references, post festival parties, but mostly people do it because it is"doing", "sharing" and "belonging" -- and because without our volunteers the festivals wouldn't be what they are!
