Mayor B Cunial

Frankston City Mayor Brian Cunial is passionate about Frankston, the city in which he was born and raised.

Elected to Frankston City Council as a Councillor for South-West Ward in 2008, Brian was most recently elected Mayor in December 2011 for a 12-month term.

Brian is committed to improving the image of Frankston and making it a safe and prosperous place for people to live.

He is particularly excited to see the transformation the city has started to undergo with the city centre's revitalisation well underway.

He is also interested in sustainable living practices such as the use of solar power, encouraging the use of recycled water and the harvesting of rainwater.

Aswell as attending school and raising his family in Frankston, Brian has been a police officer for 28 years, much of that time in Frankston.

It is this local knowledge which gives him a keen sense of Frankston, its people, its issues, its strengths and its potential.

Brian is a Leading Senior Constable of Police currently stationed at the Frankston Police Station but on a year's leave for his Mayoral year.

During his career he has worked at the Mordialloc and Moorabbin police stations, Fingerprints, Police/Schools Involvement Program, Community Policing Squad, Sex Offence and Child Abuse Unit and the Crime Scene Unit.

Brian is married to Diana and they have three adult children, Nikita, Alyce and Joshua.

Brian's other interests include plant propagation, collecting palm trees and fishing.
