Invitation to a meeting to discuss the rate of development in your area
I have had a number of discussions with residents in your area who are concerned about possible over development around their homes. These residents are not opposed to development and recognize that Frankston is building more houses for a growing population. However, these residents are also keen to protect the green leafy feel of surrounding streets. They fear that more homes could mean both more houses on smaller blocks and more cars spilling out on to the streets. This could lead to a feeling of over-crowding.
Proper planning can avoid this from occurring. There are a number of planning controls being considered around your area that may deal with these concerns. These controls do not directly limit the number of homes that can be built on a block nor restrict subdivision. However, they will affect housing density by for instance requiring more space between new homes and the road; and restricting the building space that can take place on each block. To assess the adequacy of these controls to meet residents concerns, I invite you to meet with me and senior planning managers:
