Specific information
The uniquely designed building replaces the former bluestone toilet/kiosk facility. Frankston City Council has signed an "Agreement to Lease" with Sylcia Pty Ltd for the construction and operation of "Sofia on the Pier" family restaurant for a period of 21 years.
Omiros Emmanouilides from OMIROS One Architecture Interiors highlighted that the design brief for the restaurant was to bring people together, influenced by the surrounding environment. The building responds to all seasons and echoes the seascape. The balcony dining space is open to the landscape, however the structure has been designed to cater for the bay winds. The building concept gives flexibility to allow cross ventilation during the hotter summer months.
