Construction commenced in late September 2007 with the boardwalk due to be open this summer.

The boardwalk, stretching approximately 400 metres, will provide a shared pedestrian and cycle connection from the Frankston Yacht Club to the Frankston Life Saving Club. The majority of the boardwalk will be constructed of hardwood timber at a width of three metres with three shaded lookout decks.
