One of the greatest assets that Frankston City has to offer is its natural beachscape. The development of Frankston Safe Boat Harbour will offer substantial benefits to the region and the growing number of users of Port Phillip Bay.

RESULTS - STAGE 1 TENDER PROCESS
The Tender Evaluation Panel reported the results of the tender process to Council on March 1 2010. No conforming
tenders were received. Feedback from selected registrants indicated that despite wanting to construct the harbour, current
market conditions (due to the global financial crisis) meant that they were unable to secure finance for the project.

As a result Council resolved to terminate the current tender process and to go back to the market in 12-18 months time
when market conditions had improved.

In the meantime Council will commence the Cultural Heritage Plan for the site and clarify Native Title requirements by liaising with the State Government and local Indigenous Groups.

Council will also pursue Olivers Hill slope stabilisation funding from the State Government as well as funding for public infrastructure covering public boat ramps, public access and services connection works.
