Olivers Hill to Pier Boardwalk
The Frankston Foreshore raised timber boardwalk is a community success story, providing over 700 metres of boardwalk for both residents and visitors to enjoy spectacular views of the Frankston foreshore.
A spokesperson for Frankston City Council said: "The boardwalk project is the result of a successful partnership between Frankston City Council, Frankston Beach Association and the local community, and has involved an extensive consultation process. This project has not only enhanced the Frankston Foreshore, but has provided track access to the beach, while protecting the sensitive dune system from further erosion."
The boardwalk has weathered to a grey colour that blends in with the surrounding environment. Use of the foreshore area has increased, and vegetation is taking hold; two things that could not co-exist a couple of years ago.
The project was jointly funded by Frankston City Council and Parks Victoria.
