This web site contains information on a range of demographics including:
- Total number of people
- Employment type
- Country of birth
- Working population
The profiles include a brief description of Frankston City, summary statistics, a map and land summary, information on ages and number of people, country of birth, religion, education, employment, dwellings and household income.
This information is also available for comparison with the other Census years of 1991 and 1996.
Frankston City Council has adopted the notion of small or local area planning using eight local neighbourhood areas. They are Carrum Downs/Skye, Frankston Central, Frankston Heights, Frankston North, Frankston South, Karingal, Langwarrin, and Seaford.
Detailed demographic information is developed about each of these neighbourhoods for use in planning for a broad range of council activities, programs and facilities.
The aim of local area planning is to identify specific issues related to the population age and expected needs, and to provide forward planning for likely service needs. This approach ensures the services and facilities provided by Frankston City Council are available when and where people need them most. This planning approach is consistent with the Victorian Government's Melbourne 2030 Strategy.
